... and kick me when I'm down...
It was probably always a bit of false hope or wishful thinking from die-hards like myself anyway, but now Kristen all but squashes much hope for any live-action continuation of Veronica Mars.  From TV Guide Online:

Kristen Bell Sees "No Future" for Mars Movie

Your best chance for seeing Neptune again may involve a telescope, as Veronica Mars herself is bearish on the prospect of a big-screen follow-up to the cult TV series. "There is no future, unfortunately," Bell tells MTV.com, when asked about the rumored Mars movie. "Everybody's really, really sad to see it go... [But] she has been laid to rest [and] may she rest in peace."

Although Bell says she has yet to be involved in a single discussion about possibly revisiting her supersleuther via the silver screen, she won't rule out the notion of one day getting her PI on again. "Depends on how well I age," she quips, making us miss her delivery and wit all the more. Sigh.

There's always the whole "never say never" mantra, but I won't hold my breath.

Wish I would have seen this yesterday after it was posted.  It would have made a nice ball-buster ending to my already-shitty Tuesday, rather than crapping on my Wednesday morning, too.

And I apologize to any who have browsed my LJ the last few weeks and have no interest in Kristen Bell. I'm in a bit of an obsessive period right now (well, more than usual), so it seems the only interesting crap I can manage to post about is revolving around her. *shrug*

Kristen Bell is awesome.

Aw Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear about the Tuesday and this morning being crappy. This past Sunday was a craptastic one for me, and apparently for Andrea too. I've kinda been on the look out for it this week.

I like VM too, I had heard whispers of the movie and was rather excited to hear more on it. Sadly the more was the "Um yeah, no."

Thanks for the sympathy, Ro. And you know, I think this week must have been astrologically cursed or something, because it's just been kinda pissy all the way through. Monday and yesterday were pretty depressing, work-wise, too. Today (so far) is starting okay, but I still have 6 more hours at work, so... Thank God I'm off tomorrow.

And I may be an obstinate fool on the subject, but I'll stick with the "never say never" rant on any possible future for Veronica. Even if it's not a feature film, as long as Rob Thomas is involved, I'll remain his bitch and at least follow through with it. I can't help myself.

Yeah I'm with you on the astrologically cursed thing. It makes sense. :D Here's hoping that today goes well.

lol. I've got that philosophy as well with many of my other fandoms. I'll just have to now apply it to VM as well.

Ditto to Ro's comments. Dunno if she mentioned it, but I had intended to see if either/both of you were free for noshing this past Sunday as I was back in O-town to celebrate wsasianboy finishing his Master's. And then what I thought was dinner on Sat night turned into 10 hours of drinking and hanging out followed by being up for church at 8 am Sun...yeah, I was running on empty by then.

I am back around in Sept. - er, weekend of the 8th/9th. Just saying...pencil something in if you can. It sounds like all of us could use some fun and frivolity befitting our age rather than this sucktastic vortex of work stress and evening vegging to recover.

The afternoon/evening of Sunday the 9th may be do-able. My 10-year high school reunion is that weekend, with two evening events on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th that I plan on attending. But things should be wrapped up by Sunday.

So, yeah, tentative Sunday the 9th plans could be workable.

And my sympathies for the early Sunday morning church after all-night drinking - seems about like just as much fun as it sounds.
