Utter awesomeness or too good to be true??
According to different hopeful rumors I've read/heard the last few weeks, Kristen Bell's name kept popping up as a casting possibility for a recurring role on the upcoming season of Lost.  Of course I was interested, and while I wished something like that could be true, skepticism is the watchword on this one.

Now, TV Guide's spoiler-guru Michael Ausiello has posted some more news on this possible development.  The mention leads off his weekly Ausiello Report. Nothing is confirmed by any means, but even the remote impossible possibility is enough to make me tingly.  In the discussion thread, even fellow TV Guide editor/columnist Matt Webb Mitovich is ecstatic:

Kristen Bell? On Lost?? That'd be like someone handing you a Godiva ice cream bar just as an orgasm subsides.* Please let it be!

Beware, the above links may be spoiler-filled for many shows as you scroll.  I'll go ahead and c/p the pertinent info from the report, under a cut of course:

Question: Have you spoken to Darlton about having Kristen Bell on Lost?  If you pull this off, I swear (and you have this in writing, with AA witnesses) that I will send you one case of Diet Raspberry Snapple for every episode of Lost that Kristen appears on.  Hope you're up for the challenge! - Erin

Ausiello: You better get busy clipping them there Snapple coupons, Erin.  And while you're at it, slap on a pair of Depends, 'cause this is the kind of exclusive casting prattle that causes mass piddling: I can tell you for a fact that Kristen's name has been brought up with regard to the new role of Charlotte, the hot twentysomething who is said to be "precocious, loquacious and funny... a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world." Yep, sounds like our Kristen!  The only question now is whether my in-demand BFF is ready to jump back into another series. And, if so, will the financial toll wrought by all those Snapple purchases force Erin to declare bankruptcy? Please, God, let the answer be "Yes!" to all of the above!

As I read it, the role seems to perfectly fit with who Kristen is, and seems to be something she could easily and effectively portray. Should this casting actually miraculously come to fruition, it would be the first absolutley exciting piece of new TV-related development - for me - since Veronica's shameful abandonment. And honestly, anything that enables Kristen to snag higher-profile mainstream exposure (like the upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall, produced by the currently red-hot Judd Apatow) is fan-frakking-tastic.  If anyone in tinseltown is worthy of superstardom, it is the immensely talented Ms. Bell.  And I'm not just saying that because I'm in love with her. I'm not... I swear...

*thinks positive thoughts*

Kristen Bell is awesome.

See what happens when I crawl in a book! This is just - I'm speechless. And if it turns out to just be a tease I will be right there with you mourning the disappointment.

Her being friends with Ian might help this situation though. Ian is very vocal about how much he loved his experience on Lost and the rest of the cast and living in Hawaii. I'm sure she has heard good things. Plus, it's not like it was on VM - she won't be carrying the show by any means and they would probably be able to work around any movie commitments she would have. It would be quite a coup, for both the fans and the network.

See, you have me babbling.

We must dish soon. Love you - *snoggins*

Yeah, judging by my drive-bys to your LJ, I figured you'd be wrapped up in book-stuff - first HP and now Eclipse - so I didn't think you'd been up on some TV stuff.

Like I said, I'd read the rumors with her name for a few weeks now, but didn't put much stock in them - chalked up to fandom-wishing and whatnot. But with confirmation that the producers have her name circulating... well, that's just blissful.

I won't get overly eager, so as to quell future disappointment, but I'll remain patiently optimistic. And I'm still hoping she can end her anonymous-narration on Gossip Girl. I really don't want to try and keep up with that crap, and if she's not tied to it in any way, I won't.

And I may be busy-ish tonight, but perhaps I can give you a call tomorrow after I get back from the gym. I should have some time, I think.

You are totally hanging out with the wrong sorts of people.

And YIPEE!! I don't even watch Lost - just happy for you. And Kristen Bell - she's a darn good actress and cute as a button. More screentime for her can only be good.
